This paper discusses the element of sacrifice present in the novel The Blind Assassin written by Canadian author, Margaret Atwood. She was born in 1939 in Ottawa, and received her early education at home due to uncertain world conditions. She later went on to get her B.A degree from University of Toronto in 1961 and her first poetry collection was published a year later in 1962.
